Please United States and court, reconsider the verdict of zimmerman. How can he not be convicted of taking the life of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin! I mean this is against international human rights. Just because zimmerman is half white, it does not mean that there are different rules for people like him. In the USA black people sit in prison for years for selling drugs but Zimmerman is not judged t...o have taken the life of Trayvon Martin. If we look at the Convention of rights of the child adopted by the UN General Assembly in 1989, states "All children are born free and equal worth." and "All children have the right to protection." USA is one of two countries that have not ratified this convention. Why is this?
United States signed the Convention in February 1995, thus expressed its principled determination to follow it. But the convention never found the way to the nation's lawmakers to be ratified and thus recognized as legally binding on the U.S. government. Four years ago, did Barack Obama express that the lack of ratification of the Convention was embarrassing for the USA and he would take hold of this matter. But still nothing has happened. One reason may be that in Article 37 of the Convention "prohibits judging children under 18 to death or life imprisonment without opportunity for release" In the USA zones approximately 2,500 people who were under 18 when the crime was committed, life imprisonment without possibility of release .
It's time to ratify the Convention, so that children like Trayvon Martin is not being killed at such a young age, without any kind of a fair trial. Although non really know what happened, we can imagine it. I think it was a brutal murder where an innocent boy was killed.
Really hope the United States will take a scrub and change its legislation and ratifying the Convention.. REST IN PEACE TRAYVON MARTIN
